How can New York City create an economy that works for all New Yorkers? Panelists and participants joined together to discuss neighborhood-based economic models, such as worker coops, community land trusts, and cooperative financial institutions that provide concrete, equitable alternatives to an economic system that has produced staggering wealth inequality. They also discussed the need for a public bank and a global movement to tax financial transactions (“Robin Hood Tax”) to generate revenue for the public good.
